October 21 1818. He married Martha Jane Yardley, who was born June
15 1824, daughter of Captain Thomas Yardley, who was in Jackson'sArmy
at the Battle of New Orleans. James H Kelton was in the army thattook
the Indians from Tennessee to the Indian Territory. He and his wifehad
seven children, namely:
John Thomas, Sarah Elizabeth, Alice Jane, Mary Louise, William James,
Margaret Tennessee, Mattie J.

Elizabet h "Betsy" CLIFTON dau/o Je sse and Priscilla CLIFTON mabt 1795 in Montgomery Co NC Hiram WILL IAMS. They bought land in ChesterCo SC in 1798 and sold it to move to Wilson Co TN in 1806. S everalchildren of Jesse & Priscilla CL IFTON settled in Wilson Co TN includingson Benjamin an d wife, Cynthia. - Ruth Coward Cunningham
