It is reported that one of Allen's sons went to south Alabama and livedwith the Indians. I b elieve it was Ed who's wife is reported to havebeen a descendent of Pocahontas. A check in J emison, Alab ama indicatesthat this town has had 6 or 7 names but currently believe by reside ncethat Jemison was named for Robert Jemison of Birmingham who was a hero inthe war between t he states. Mrs. Laura Estella Goodwin Dennison, 82, of 198 Kenner Ave. died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Thomas hospital from complications of a broken hip and pneumonia.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. at Green Street Church of Christ. Carl B. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The body is at Finley, Doris & Charlton funeral home, 2423 West End Ave.
A native of Nashville, she was the daughter of John and Rachael Goodwin. In 1905, she married the late Claude Dennison a former Nashville streetcar conductor, who died in 1930.
Mrs. Dennison was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son, A. C. Dennison; two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Bonds and Mrs. Dimple Van Hoose; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; all of Nashville; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Traylor, Madison, and two brothers, E. H. Goodwin, of Madison, and H. R. Goodwin of Seattle, Washington.

Robert (Bob) E. Harris of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away on November23, 2010 after a one-y ear battle with lung cancer. He was cared for inhis final days by the Circle of Life Hospic e at Legacy Vi llage and wassurrounded by his family. Bob was a member of the Bella Vista Chu rch ofChrist where he served as a deacon. He retired from Burroughs Corporationafter 32 year s and went into business fo r himself. Bob and Mary Louisemoved from Hutchinson, Ks. to Bell a Vista in 1992.
Bob was born in Wichita, Ks. the younger son of Meyer and Ethel Harris.Bob played football fo r East High School in Wichita, Kansas and enjoyedgoing back for class of ©ØO46 reunions. He w as well know n for hisgenerosity and his willingness to help anyone. He could and would fixab out anything. It was common knowledge that if you needed anything inthe way of tools, Bob oft en had two in his garage . In the past severalyears he rebuilt an MGB and was extremely prou d of that accomplishment.He could regularly be spotted at Catfish John©ØOØs before church onWe dnesday night and if Mary Louise woul d agree, they would sneak anothertrip in during the wee k©ØOŒfollowed by a quick trip to Braum©ØOØs for achocolate yogurt ©ØO¿flat bottom©ØO cone.
He loved his church family and enjoyed the dinners, the games and thefellowship with them. Th e family was supported throughout his illness bythe generosity of this family along with th e many friends of Bob©ØOØs andMary Louise©ØOØs in the community. They were also very appreciati ve of thekindness shown to them during Bob©ØOØs illness at Highland Oncology, Dr.Oakhill and t he many wonderful nurses.
Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Louise Harris, his daughterBecky McCartney an d his sons Rod Harris and Kent Harris; his grandsonBenji Harris, their extended families, an d several cousi ns, nephews andnieces. He is preceeded in death by his parents and his brothe r, RichardHarris.
Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory at 2258 Forest Hills Boulevard,Bella Vista, Arkansas 7 2715 is in charge of Bob©ØOØs arrangements. Therewill be a memorial service at Bella Vista Chu rch of Chris t at 8889 WestMcNelly Road, Bentonville, AR 72712. Visitation will begin at 10:0 0 andservices, officiated by Randall Caselmann and Charles Cash will begin at11:00 am, Monday , November 29, 2010.
