The Jamisons doubtless of Scottish lineage are said to have originated ina Highland clan of G unn. James and wife resided in the Parrish of St.Anne's. Essex County, Virginia which was est ablished in 1693. Margaretprobably died before her husband because there is no mention of he r inhis will dated April 19, 1736. This is the father of James who marriedMary Gaines.
