The family called her Lucille until her Great Uncle Henry said that name was too long for such a little girl so he said her name was Ceil and that name was hers from then on.
When her mother died, Lucy was sort of farmed out to some friends forsome unknown reason. She served as almost a slave for a year for a Mrs. Uhles. Mrs. Uhles was known as a shouting baptist, hypocrite and acted like a witch. She had several children who were very nice to Lucy whileshe was with them. The children always treated her like a sister. Mr. Uhles' name is unknown. One of the children's daughter is believe to be Hattie Kirby who may lived in the L afayette, Tennessee area.
Later a Mrs. Stella (Bill) Wyatt got sick and she sent Lucy to help her. Mrs. Wyatt treated her kindly and she became part of her family from then on. Harvey and Bill Wyatt had one son, Harold. They are all passed onnow.
She would visit the Wyatt many times after those early years. Lucy's children, Glenn and Joe h ad fond memories of the nice man and lady but did not know at the time how she fit into the family puzzle until years later.
While Lucy was in Gallatin. She met Vervie when she lived on 222 E.Winchester. Later she moved a short distant to 416 Anderson Street where she lived when they were married. When their f irst child, Glenn was born, they apparently lived at 116 West Main St. They lived at 225 Morrison Street just before moving to Camden, TN where Vervie became supervisor inthe Genesco plant there.
Lucy & Vervie Jamison met while working at the General Shoe Company in Gallatin, TN in the late 1930's. They soon fell in love and married. After she became pregnant with their first child, they decided that she would become a mother and housewife. They lived in Gallatin, TN until about 1949. Then they moved to Camden, TN with a transfer with Genesco. They lived there for 50 years raising their three children. After the death of Vervie, she moved to Nashville, TN to be near her daughter and she said she always wanted to live in Nashville. They were married almost 62 years.
Before Lucy married she lived at 222 E. Winchester Street in Gallatin (now 96) and at 416 Anderson Street where she lived and this was the first place she lived when they she married Vervi e Jamison. During the1940 Cenus they were recorded as living a duplex at 116 West Main, Gallat in, TN with two month old son Glenn Taylor.

Lucy Jamison, age 96, passed away on August 15, 2013 after falling while going to the mail box. The Graveside Service, conducted by her nephew Wayne Jamison, was at 5 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Coleman Cemetery in Murfreesboro. Family members served as Pallbearers. These were: Grand Daughter: Amanda Jamison, Grand Son-in-Law: Jonathan Smith, Nephews: Danny Andrews, Billy Andrews, Hal Andrews, Leon Herrington, Dayton Jamison, Steve Havron. Honorary Pallbearers: Grandchildren: Elizabeth Smith and Dave Darnell.
Survivors include children Glenn ("Tommie") Jamison, Joe (Lynnette) Jamison, and June Jamison, grandchildren David Jamison, Amanda Jamison, Elizabeth Smith, Dave Darnell, Shawn Darnell, and Lori Stewart, and great-grandchildren Alex, Grant, and Bryce and great great grandchild Ella. She is preceded in death by husband Vervie Taylor Jamison, parents Irdel Levi "IL" and Cordella Elizabeth 'Della' Word Andrews, and siblings Mary Susan 'Sue' Gregory, Vernon Presley Andrews, Willie Clemen, Wesley Wiseman Andrews, I.L. Andrews, Prentice and half-sister Edney Patterson.
Although never adopted, she was raised by Harvey and Stella 'Bill' Wyatt who severed as a safe haven in a childhood of confusion when her parents died so young.

Lucy was a very unusual and gifted lady. She never received a formal education and so she taught herself to read and write. When illness came to her or her family, and the doctors could not determine the cause of the problems, she would read and study to find the source behind the problems. She diagnosed one of her grandchildren as having an allergic reaction to wheat and wheat by-products when the doctors tried other methods to remedy the problem. She determined that she had breast cancer when the local doctors said she did not. She found a doctor in Nashville to go to and sure enough she had breast cancer and had to have a massive mastectomy. It was early enough to save her life. She also had dreams of her family and on rare occasions would share the information with the family of thing to happen in their lives or things that happened that they did not tell her about.
