Nellie Lee Pittard Pitts "Miss Nellie", 82, of Madisonville, KY,originally of Halls Hills, TN passed away at 5:42 P.M., Monday, May 4,2009 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

She was born March 25, 1927 in Rutherford Co, TN to the late ErnestHolmes Pittard and Lilli e Mai Bogle Pittard. She is also preceded indeath her husband, Richard "Bill" Pitts; one daug hter, Nellie M ariePitts; one brother, Cecil Ernest Pittard and one sister, Mary ElizabethBen son.

Mrs. Pitts worked as co-owner of Terminix for many years with her husbandand after his passin g she took the business as owner and ran it for manyyears. After that she worked with a grou p called "Gre en Thumb" where shewas placed in many different jobs in the community. The late st job whereshe resigned this past year was James Madison Middle School, a job shedearly love d and the staff and child ren. She was a member of FirstGeneral Baptist Church in Madisonvill e, a board member and secretary ofthe Christian Food Bank for many years and was past membe r of the B & PWClub. Mrs. Pitts' missio n in life was loving and helping others and sheha d a heart for children especially. She is survived by two sisters,Edith Pittard "Buck" Cornel ison of Madisonville and Martha Evelyn PittardGipson of Madisonville; two brothers, Robert An drew "Diane" Pittard ofLakeland, FL and Ronnie Dale "Joanne" Pittard of Lascassas, TN; numero usnieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 7, 2009 atJennings & Ayers Funeral H ome in Murfreesboro, TN with Rev. DarrellMenser officiating. Burial will follow at Evergree n Cemetery inMurfreesboro.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 6that Barnett-Strother Fu neral Home and on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. untilservice time at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Hom e in Murfrees boro.

Cecil Ernest Pittard, age 74 of Murfreesboro died Saturday April 5, 2008. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late, Ernest and Lillie Bogle
Pittard.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Shirley Hoskins and Anita Hanner officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery,
with military honors.

He is survived by brothers, Ronnie Pittard of Lascassas, and Robert Pittard of FL: Sisters, Nellie Pitts, Evelyn Gipson, and Edith Cornelison all of
Madisonville, KY and several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Patrick Pittard who died in 1961, and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Benson.

He was a Baptist and retired Navy Gunners Mate. He enjoyed Civil War Artifacts.

Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin

Ruth was also a member of Powell's Chapel BaptistChurch.

Mrs. Batey was preceded in death by her parents; Robert (Tab) C. andHattie Phillips Henderson , her husband, Frank Blackburn Batey, hergrandson, David Christopher Batey, her brother, Winf red Henderso n, andher sisters; Frankie Martin, Louise Patton, Roberta Carter, SybleDeckelman n, and Mary Evelyn Killough.

Ruth is survived by her sons; David (Sue) W. Batey of Murfreesboro, TN,Gary (Joan) Henderso n Batey of Murfreesboro, TN, her daughters; Ceacy(Charles)Bradford of Murfreesboro, TN, Annet te (Sam)Pittar d ofMurfreesboro, TN, and Mary (Robert) Wheeler Richardson of Murfreesboro,TN , and her sister, Marguerite Minton of Florida, 12 grandchildren and 18great-grandchildren an d 1 great-great grandchild.
