I am a descendant of Robert Lloyd Ross.
I have a picture of Robert Lloyd Ross who is also known as Little Bob Ross. I also have copies of letters he wrote about his service in the CSA. He was captured when Fort Donaldson fell and sent to Camp Douglas POW facility in Illinois. He was released at Vicksburgl, MS in the last POW exchange of the Civil War. He saw action at Vicksburg, Raymond, Jackson and Meredian Mississippi, Also at Port Hudson, LA on the Mississippi River from which he was evacuater before it fell to a Federal Land force. He became sick and his Commanding Officer released him and others (without papers)to go home for convalesence.
At this time the CSA was fleeing from the federals and short on food ammunition and medical supplies. It took him 5 weeks to make his way back to Erin, Tn. All of this information is in the Nashville archives.
Robert Lloyd Ross Had a daughter named Delphia Ellis Ross (Dovie) and she married George Potter Jamison. Their first child (of 14 Children) was Ida Vickson Jamison who marrited Henry Harrison Ross, Their second son, Robert Delroy Ross is my Father.
