Bessie, Ida's mother, divorced Charlie when Ida was two years old. Bessiereturned to the ol d Christie home place where Ida was raised with hergrandparents (Sampson & Ida Christie).

Ida married William Otto "Otto" Robinson at a young age and they weresoon divorced.

When Ronnie was a toddler, he called Ida "GaGa" and the name stuck. GaGaremained close with h er son Chuck and his family. When they moved, shemoved to, always ending up within an hour o r so driving distance.

She was a bundle of love and all about good cooking to include plenty ofhomemade desserts an d sweets for her grandchildren. In Victorville,California she and her husband Bill lived nex t door to GaGa 's sister,Susie Wilkins (maiden name probably McDavid). After selling their ho me inVictorville, she & her husband moved to Vine street in Hesperia.

Her second marriage was to William "Bill" Halkins. Bill was a wonderfulperson. After GaGa die d, he returned to Greece passing away a couple ofyears later. The family receiving a letter w hich brought the sad news.

Charles "Chuck" Lonzo Robinson was her only child. Her death was a shock.She went to the hosp ital with a severe case of bronchitis, unexpectedlyhaving a heart attack while there and pass ing away.

He grew up on a farm in Texas. His mother and father divorced when he wasyoung. He lived wit h his grandparents until 15 when he ran away.

He stated that he had hitch hiked and walked to California. Spoke of thehardship of walking a cross White Sands, New Mexico. It was the GreatDepression. He told of how he would go int o a restaurant a nd ask forketchup, using it to make tomato soup. Once to Los Angeles he go t a jobas an hotel elevator operator.

He met his wife Peggy at the hotel. She was staying there while she wasauditioning for an act ing role.

During WWII he was drafted into the Army. After the war he bought a largeranch in Kitchner, C anada. Upon selling the ranch he returned toCalifornia and began a contracting business makin g neon signs .
