Rosalie Dannen, 74, of Halsey died Sunday in Corvallis.
She was born in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of John Samuel and SinaLee (Miller) Milburn.
Rosalie started her career by working as a nurse for Dr. Jack Hartman inSweet Home.
She married Lyle Bennett Dannen on Nov. 10, 1961, in Sweet Home. Afterher marriage to Lyle sh e stayed home with her family until she beganworking for the U.S. Census Bureau in 1964, earn ing many awa rds untilher retirement in 2000.
Rosalie was a member of American Legion Auxiliary No. 133. There she heldmany offices, and ch aired numerous committees working her way to becomingdepartment president. She was very activ e in the Lin n County HistoricalSociety and the Shedd Museum. Rosalie loved teaching others a bout thethings she loved: pinochle, history and travel.
She is survived by many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins who know theywere always close to h er heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lyle Dannen; daughterSusie Dannen-LaVoie; a nd parents Samuel and Sina Lee Milburn.
Rosalie's family would also like to acknowledge her dearest friends whohave become like famil y: Barbara and Alton Rush, their family andgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Halsey UnitedMethodist Church.

Halsey - Lyle B. Dannen, retired Halsey postmaster, died Sunday at GoodSamartian Hospital i n Corvallis. He was 66.
He was born November 17, 1922, in Shedd, and was a descendant of LinnCounty and Marion Count y Pioneers. He lived in the Shedd - Halsey areaall his life except when he was in the U.S. Ar my during Wor ld War II.Mr. Dannen served as a postal unit officer in Australia, New Guinea a ndthe Philippines.
After his discharge he settled in Halsey and served as the localpostmaster for 36 years.
He married Rosalie Milburn November 10, 1961, in Sweet Home. She survives.
Mr. Dannen was commander of the American Legion Timber City Post in SweetHome and a member o f the Disabled American Veterans and HarrisburgVeterans of Foreign Wars and AM Vets Post No . 15 of Sweet H ome. He was amember of the Halsey United Methodist Church and the Halsey Od d FellowsLodge. He was a past cheif of the Halsey/Shedd Rural Fire Department anda member o f National Association of postm asters.
Survivors beside his wife are children Susie Dannen of Harrisburg andScot Dannen of Californi a, brother Willard Dannen of Yuma, Arizona, twogranddaughters. His sister, Elsa Dannen, and f oster son, F loranieGervacio, died before him.
Mr. Dannen's funeral will be at 11a.m. Thursday at the Halsey UnitedMethodist Church, followe d by burial in Pugh Cemetery in Shedd. FisherFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials can be made to the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation on theAmerican Legion Child W elfare Foundation.
