To my beloved wife Nancy (Read) Rucker, the plantation with the land adjoining
whereon I now live with all the improvements &c belonging to the hosehold and
kitchen furniture and plantation utensils and the negros, fifteen named with all
my stock of horses, cattle, hogs, sheep and poultry.
To my beloved daughter Betsy Donelson two negros, to wit, Nelson and Jane and
their increase. To my daughter Lucinda Miller two negros, to wit, abram and Suka
with their increase.
To my son Johnathon Rucker, two negros to wit, Ned which he has sold off and
Hannah and her increase and the balance of my land east of Burris and south of
Stones River.
To my son, Henry T. Rucker the land which he has sold at Stoner Lick and two
negros, Hill and Phena and their increase.
To my son James Rucker, Jr. near three hundred acres of land laid off to him
whereon he now lives and two negros, to wit, Charlotte and Sande. ( Charles being
a gift from his grandfather Read) and their increase.
To my son Benjamin Rucker, about three hundred acres of land beginning at a stake
in the middle of the river on the east boundary of my land, thence down said river
to the branch emptying in just above the mill thence along Samuel R's line to
Rucker's east boundary &c. including the mill when he pays the full sum of fifteen
hundred dollars, with three negros to wit, Bartlet, Nina and her child and their
increase.
To my son William R. Rucker, the lands he has sold to Dr. Yandell with two negros,
to wit, Brient and Ceily, two cows and calves, two yews and two sows and their
increase.
To my son, Samuel R. Rucker, three hundred acres of land lying north of my mill
dam and Benjamin's line and two negros, to wit, David and Betty , two cows and
calves and two sows and their increase.
I give to my daughter Johanna Price four negros, to wit, Sarah, Critty, Stephen
and Milly and their increase with one fourth of the monies arising from lands on
Stones River and Harpeth River.
I give to my son, Weston Rucker about three hundred acres of land adjoining on
Burrus's northeast corner and with the line between me and Thomas Rucker's and
with two negros, to wit, Beverly and Bridget, and a good bed, two cows and calves,
two yews and two sows and their increase.
To my daughter Joice Rucker, four negros, to wit, Lydia, Hannah, Lewis and Dick
and her mare and her colt, her bureau, a good bed, two cows and calves, two yews
and c. and one fourth of the sale of my Stones and Harpeth lands when obtained and
their increase.
To my son, Jack W. Rucker the balance of my land south of Benjamin and to the
river and the line on the Rocky Ridge with three negros, to wit, Darcus, Frank and
Rachael, a horse, saddle and bridle, a bed, two cows and calves, two yews and two
sows and their increase.
To my son Joseph B. Rucker my land lying east of Yandall's and north of James
Rucker's with three negros, to wit, Darius, Mourin, and Doll, a horse, bridle and
saddle, one bed, two cows and calves, teo yews and two sows and their increase.
To my son Robert Rucker,the plantation and land, utensils &c whereon I now live
and left my beloved wife during her natural life at her decease with the following
negros, to wit, Jim, Adaline, and Jude's youngest child, a horse, saddle and
bridle, a bed, two cows and calves, two yews and two sows and their increase.
I appoint James, Benjamin, William R., and Samuel R. Rucker, Jr. Executors. This
14th day of July 1819.
