Carl Cleon Driver,
age 81, of the Akersville Community, died Saturday, May 8, 1999 at University Medical Center in Lebanon, TN. He was born Saturday, October 20, 1917, in Macon County, TN, a son of the late Burl Driver and Victoria Doss Driver, and was a member of Akersville Baptist Church. He was a barber for many years, having formerly operated a barber shop in LaFayette, and barbered from his home on Thursday nights. He was a carpenter and a retired school bus driver for the Macon County School System and the Allen County Board of Education. Carl was a bass singer for the Christianaires Quartet for 30 years. On February 2, 1936, he was married to Genie Jones Driver, who died March 1, 1984.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law; Lillian Maurice and Donald Roark and Glenna Mitchell Driver, all of the Akersville Community; Mary Levy and Melburn Cothron, Dixon Springs, TN; one sister, Oneda Jent, Indianapolis, IN; three brothers, Eatol Driver, Russellville, KY; Merlin Driver, LaFayette, TN; Glenn Driver, Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren, Larry Cothron, Shelbyville, TN; Troy Cothron, Dixon Springs, TN; Connie Shrum, Tim Roark, and Donna Dotts, all of LaFayette, TN and ten great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Blon Driver and Billy Driver.
Funeral services were conducted 2:00 pm, Monday, May 10, 1999 at the Akersville Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Smith officiating. Burial was in the Akersville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Cothron, Troy Cothron, Tim Roark, Larry Driver, Jimmy Driver, Tom Driver, and Ricky Driver.

Eatol Driver, 82, of Russellville died June 12, 2002, at a Morgantown nursing home [Butler Co., KY]. The Macon County, Tenn., native was a truck driver for Texaco Gas Co.-Key Oil, a Mason and a Shriner and a member of the Moose Lodge and Crittenden Drive Church of Christ. He was a son of the late Burl J. Driver and Vicky Doss Driver and the husband of the late Piccola Blankenship Driver.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sanders Funeral Home with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Driver of Morgantown; a daughter, Janet Pace of Jacksonville, N.C.; two brothers, Glenn Driver of Indianapolis and Merlin Driver of Lafayette, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Doss died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ellie Whittemore in the Cold Springs section of the county on Sunday afternoon. She was the widow of Billie Green Doss who died ten years ago. She leaves one son, George Meador, Lafayette merchant; three daughters, Mrs. Whittemore; Mrs. Samantha Law of Underwood; and Mrs. Haywood Meador of Shiloh.
She was a Miss Bandy prior to her first marriage many years ago, being the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Fishburn Bandy.
Burial was made Monday afternoon in the family graveyard, with funeral services conducted by the Rev. Ed Morris. The deceased was almost 90 years of age, and a member of Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church.

Leatha “Gertie” Blankenship Keith, 89, of Franklin died March 13, 2007, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Macon County, Tenn., native was a Baptist. She was a daughter of the late Callie Blankenship and Artie Morgan Blankenship and the wife of the late Lewis Keith.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday at Crafton Funeral Home, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Survivors include five children, Linda J. Huff, Lila Jean Dotson, Lillian Riggles, Lee Roy Keith and Leon Gary Keith, all of Franklin; a sister, Lucy Perdue of Franklin; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Bertha was born Andrews, married Bedford Hudson, widowed, married Henry Alvis Andrews, widowed, married Effy McDonald. She was "Mammy" to all her many children and grandchildren. Henry Alvis Andrews had a marker for his gravestone, when Bertha died a double gravestone was made for them, his was remade for his daughter Louella Andrews, her mother was Leathy Leath, his first wife who died.

Dorothy Gammons Driver, age 86, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Macon County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, March 4, at 2:00 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Charlie Patterson officiating. Her sons, R. E., George, Johnny, Danny, and Timmy Driver served as honorary pallbearers. Russell, Jason, Brian, Chad Driver, Phil Givens, Roger Cloud, and Eric Brooks served as active pallbearers. Interment followed in the Roark Cemetery.
Dorothy Gammons Driver was born on August 17, 1920 in Macon County, to the late Lela Simpson and Ethel Draper Gammons. She was married to R. H. Driver, who preceded her in death on December 21, 1992. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by granddaughter, Kay Driver Gentry, on April 7, 2002, brother, Willard Gammons, and sister, Myrtle Christianson. She had retired from Carter Automotive after 15 years of employment and was a member of the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by, sons and daughters-in-law, R. E. HESSIE MAI GAMMONS - age 91 of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday afternoon October 2, 2011 at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. Funeral services for Ms. Hessie Gammons were conducted on
Wednesday, October 5 at 10 a.m. with Jerry Mercer officiating. Interment
followed in the Roark Cemetery. Sam Jones, Luke Jones, Nick Jones, Michael Farley, Timmy Farley, and Scotty Jenkins served as Pallbearers.
Ms. Hessie was born on July 9, 1920 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late John Allen Sewell and Cerena Jenna Likens Sewell. She was one of eleven siblings born to this union.
She was married to Willard Mitchell Gammons, sharing more than thirty years together and raising eight children. Willard preceded Hessie in death on October 26, 1966. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by; two daughters, Barbara Roark, and Vivian Davis, one son, Phillip Gammons, and a grandson, Barry Neal Satterfield.
Hessie worked as a seamstress for Trousdale Manufacturing for over twenty years, before retiring. She enjoyed making quilts and giving the most of them away. Being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother made her life complete. She loved preparing big meals for her family and friends. In her home everyone was always welcome. Hessie liked to talk and socialize. She had a great personality, very self-sufficient, strong willed and full of fun.
She was a member of the Lafayette Church of Christ.
Hessie will be missed by family and friends, but leaves many memories behind that are everlasting.
She is survived by; Sons, Donnie (Judy) Gammons, Billy Gammons all of
Lafayette, TN, Daughters, Margaret (Hilton) Farley of Lafayette, TN, Charlotte (Denny) Reagan of Sevierville, TN, Linda (Steve) Morris of Lafayette, TN, 22 grandchildren, 37 Great-Grandchildren, 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive.
