Vivian J. Gammons Davis, age 67, of the Peddler's Ridge Community of Macon County, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Hendersonville Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Donnie Gammons officiating. Scotty Jenkins, Mike Stallard, Sonny Gammons, Mike Cox, Tim Farley and Mike Farley served as Pallbearers. Interment was in the Drury Cemetery.
Vivian Davis was born on July 29, 1939, in Macon County, Tennessee, the daughter of Willard Gammons, who preceded her in death and Hessie Mae Sewell Gammons, who survives. She was married to Raymond R. Davis on June 29, 1984, who survives. In addition to her father, son, Barry Neal Satter-field, sister, Barbara Roark, and brother, Phillip Ray Gammons, preceded her in death. She worked 13 year at Stitches in Red Boiling Springs and attended the Lafayette Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, of 22 year, she is survived by, sons, Gary Lee Satterfield, Larry Wayne Satterfield, and Tony Dale (Mary) Satterfield, all of Hartsville, TN, daughter, Pamela Kay (John T.) Benson, Bowling Green, KY, mother, Hessie Mae Gammons, Lafayette, TN, brothers, Billy Gammons and Donnie Gammons, both of Lafayette, TN, sisters, Margaret Farley, and Linda Morris, both of Lafayette, TN, Charlotte Reagan, Pigeon Forge, TN, step children, Raymond Davis, JR, Kemberly Sue Leaver, and Debbie Kuntz, all of Pennsylvania, grandchild, Tonya Lynn Beck.

Phillip Ray Gammons, age 53, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday morning, November 13, 2006, at his residence in Lafayette, TN. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Donnie Gammons officiating. Family and friends served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Roark Cemetery. Phillip Ray Gammons, was born on Wednesday, February 11, 1953 in Macon County, TN, the son of the late Willard Mitchell Gammons and Hessie Mae Sewell Gammons, who survives. On June 3, 2006 he was married to the former Deborah Dabney, who survives. Besides his father a sister, Barbara Roark, preceded him in death. He was a carpenter and a member of the Lafayette Church of Christ.

The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Tuesday, August 23, 1938, a daughter of the late Bethel Emmitt Sewell and Myrtle Eleanor Gammons Sewell Christiansen, and was a retired employee of Carter Automotive, where she worked for over 20 years. She is survived by 2 daughters and a son-in-law, DeCheryl and Gary Swindle; and Peggy Vickers, all of Portland, TN; 3 brothers, David Allen Sewell and James Randall Sewell, both of Lafayette, TN; and Roy Lee Sewell, of Celina, TN; 2 sisters, Alice Faye Brown, Westmoreland, TN; and Bertha Louise McCarter, Hartsville, TN; 6 grandchildren, Rachael Swindle; Jake Swindle, Michael Vickers II, Donovan Penix, Shayne Vickers, and Erica Penix.
Funeral services for Jeanette Huffines were conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, January 9, 2006 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Jerry Mercer officiating. Burial was in Anderson Memorial Park. Morris "Mel" A. Sandler 83, died Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Manorcare South. He was a resident of Indianapolis. He was born October 22, 1922, in Hartford, Connecticut. His parents were Louis and Lena (Kline) Sandler. He married Opal Sandler. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Stephen Sandler of Indianapolis; one granddaughter, Erika Sandler; and one great- granddaughter, Breanna Moore. He served in the Army. He was a member of The Shrine 500 Club, also a member of Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and a member of Murat Shrine Club. A service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2006 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135 in Greenwood. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday with a Masonic Service conducted at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood. Flora Jean Jones, 63, of Bowling Green, died March 9, 2011, at The Medical Center. She was a bus aide for Bowling Green City Schools and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Ira Hardin Ausbrooks and Roxie Gammon Ausbrooks of Bowling Green, who survives. A celebration of life will be at 5 p.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue Chapel, with burial at a later date. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Other survivors include her husband, Billy Wayne Jones of Bowling Green; three sons, Timmy Wayne Jones and his companion, Sue Kennedy, of Bowling Green, Tom William Jones and his wife, Sarah, of Woodburn, and Thad Weston Jones and his wife, Melissa, of Bowling Green; a brother, Phil Ausbrooks of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren, Heather Roberts and her husband, Heath, Justin Tyler Jones, Jared Earnhardt Jones, Kelsey Minuet Jones, Keaton Weston Jones, Luke Thomas Jones and Avery Hope Jones; and two great-grandchildren, Makenna Grace Roberts and Hayden Ethan Roberts.

Oakley Sexton, age 85, of Lafayette, Tn., passed away Monday, June 27, 1988. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Frank and Nola Gann Sexton. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 29th., 1988, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Alexander Macon County Funeral Home, in Lafayette, Tn., by Bro. Stanley Cook. Interment was in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Gammons Sexton of Lafayette, Tn.; two sons, Bratton Sexton of Scottsville, Ky., and Shelie Sexton of Franklin, Ind.; one daughter, Dean Griffin of Lafayette, Tn.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

The Macon County, TN native was born January 19, 1931, a son of the late Jessie F. Gammon and Selma Claiborne Gammon and was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Rogers Group. Survivors are sisters; Bettie Lou Sircy of Webbtown Community, Mary Elizabeth Lewis, Tampa, FL and Ruby Joe Fater, San Francisco, CA; several nieces, nephews & cousins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Henry Gammon. Graveside services for Robert Lee Gammon were conducted Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Drury Cemetery with Elder Barry Miller officiating and a eulogy by Jerry Claiborne. County, Tennessee, a son of the late Jessie Gammon and Selma Cliborne Gammon, and was a retired highway construction employee of the Rogers Group.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Deering, of Hartsville, Tennessee; three step daughters and two step sons in law; Beverly and Chuck Ketchel, Hendersonville, Tennessee; Glennon and Jimmy Scott, Gallatin, Tennessee; and Carolyn Armstrong, Centerville, Tennessee; one step son; Steve Deering, Lafayette, Tennessee; three sisters; Ruby Jo Fater, California; betty Sircy, Lafayette, Tennessee; Mary Elizabeth Lewis, Memphis, Tennessee; one brother, Robert Gammon, Lafayette, Tennessee; and five grandchildren, including Jorday Thuesen, Lynn Robertson, and Chris Jones.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2000 at the Alexander-Goad Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, Tennessee with Eld. Barry Miller officiating.
Burial will be in Drury Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chuck Ketchel, Jerry Claiborne, Jimmy Scott, Chris Jones, Olie Harper, and Lewis Warner.

Mrs. Betty Gammons Sircy, age 64, of the Webbtown Community in Lafayette, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at University Medical Center in Lebanon of respiratory failure.
Services were conducted by Elder Barry Miller and Elder Kenneth Summers on Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, from the chapel of Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette. Burial following the 11:00 a.m. service was in Phillip Anderson & Son Memorial Park in Lafayette. Mrs. Sircy was born Betty Lou Gammons on Aug. 10, 1939 in the Dry Fork Community of Macon County and was the daughter of the late Jesse Franklin and Selma Lethia Claiborne Gammons. She was retired from American Greetings in Lafayette in 1990 with fifteen years of service. She was a member of Meadorville Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by three children, Bobby C. Sircy of Webbtown, Linda Eller and husband David of Hillsdale, Barbara Reid of Lafayette; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Lewis of Florida, Ruby Jo Fatter and San Francisco, CA; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

VERA NELL CHESSOR DEERING, age 82, of the Hartsville Convalescent Center in Hartsville, and formerly of Lafayette, TN passed away Friday, November 13. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, November 15th, at 1 p.m., from chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Ricky Wilson officiating. Great-grandchildren; Anna Robertson, Gabriel Jones, Leslie Thuesen, Hanna Anderson, Ethan Anderson, Kristen Oldham, and Adrianna Woodard served as Honorary Pallbearers. Chris Jones, Brad Anderson, Scott day, K.C. Henry, John Jones, and Danny Robertson served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Drury Cemetery.
She was born on December 29, 1926 in Hickman County, TN, to her parents; the late Paul and Bertha Campbell Chessor. Ms. Vera was married on August 27, 1950 to Helma C. Deering, sharing thirteen years together and four children, Helma preceded her in death on May 3, 1963. Later, she was married to her second husband, Henry Gammons, who also preceded her in death. Besides her husbands and parents; son, Phillip Steven Deering, daughter, Beverly Deering Ketchel, and son-in-law, Elmo Armstrong, also preceded her in death. Ms. Vera worked for Formfit-Rogers in Lafayette as a seamstress for thirteen years. She was a homemaker who took great pride in decorating her home; she liked being outside working in her flowers and garden, also. Ms. Vera was a very caring wife and mother; that cherished her family. She had the kind of personality that if you ever meet her, you grew to love her. On the second Sunday in September of 1963, Ms. Vera was at New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, where she got saved, joined the church, and was baptized the same day; she remained a member there.
Ms. Vera will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by; Daughters, Glennon and husband Jimmy Scott, Carolyn Armstrong, Grandsons, Phillip and wife Ashley Deering II, Kyle Deering, Chris and wife Lori Jones, Granddaughters, Lynn and husband Danny Robertson, Jordan Thuesen Woodard, Wendy and Brad Anderson, Great Grandsons, Ethan Anderson, Gabriel Jones, Great Granddaughters, Anna Robertson, Leslie Ann Thuesen, Hannah Anderson, Adriana Woodard, Kristen Oldham. She departed this life on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN, at the age of 54 years, 2 months and 13 days. Graveside services for Barbara Reid were held at the Anderson & Son Funeral Memorial Park in Lafayette, TN on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Barbara had previous worked at Flex and Tennplasco, however, she most recently was a homemaker. She was of the Missionary Baptist belief. In addition to her father, she is survived by: Son, Brian Parker, Daughters and son-in-law, Pamela and Michael Connell and Melissa Reid, a Brother, Bobby Sircy, all of Lafayette, and a Sister and brother-in-law, Linda and David Eller of the Hillsdale Community.

Ovie Gregory Wilburn, age 95 of Lafayette, TN passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at Sumner Regional Medical center. A native of Macon County she was born August 3, 1918, the daughter of the late Bodie and Minnie Gregory. She was a member of Old Beech Bottom Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted housewife and mother. On January 18, 1936 she was united in marriage to Jesse D. Wilburn who preceded her in death on September 21, 2005. Funeral services for Ovie Gregory Wilburn were conducted Thursday August 22, 2013 from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home. The service was officiated by Elder Terry Austin. Interment followed in the Anderson Memorial Park. Active pallbearers were Joey Wilburn, Jeff Morgan, Ricky Law, Jason Law, Brian Law, Jimmy Gregory, Teddy Gregory, and Kevin Gregory. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jackie Gregory, Robbie Gregory and Wayne Kemp.
She is survived by: Daughter and Son-in-law, Ruth (Junior) Polston; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Everette (Pat) Wilburn and Dean (Carolyn) Wilburn all of Lafayette; Granddaughters and their husbands, Frankie (Ricky) Law of Cottontown, Evette (Jeff) Morgan of Lafayette; Grandson and his wife, Joey Alan (Tracie) Wilburn of Murfreesboro; Great-Grandchildren, Brian (Laura) Law, Jason (Jennifer) Law, Allye and Collin Morgan and Lily Kate Wilburn; Great-great-grandchild, Parker Jo Law.
