John Hubert 'Johnny' Jones [Male] b. 22 SEP 1947 Nashville, Davidson Co. TN - d. 16 AUG 1967 Vietnam

Sgt. John Hubert Jones, 19, US Marine Corps, was killed August 16, 1967 in the vicinity of Quang Tin in Vietnam.
Johnny was a native of Nashville, Davidson Co. Tn. He was the son of Wilson Ransom Jones and the late Grace Andrews Jones.
He graduated from East High School in Nashville.
Jones, whose life's ambition was to be a Marine, enlisted in April, 1965.
He received his basic training at Paris Island, S.C. and in February, 1966, received a citation for being selected battalion Marine of the month.
Sent to Vietnam in December, 1966, he received the Purple Heart on June 19, 1967 for injuries received in action.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his sisters, Nancy Jones Lindsey of Columbia, Tn., Mrs. Marsha Hooper.
He is also survived by his step-mother Sarah Jones of Nashville.

Mrs. Irene Sircy, age 92 of Tanglewood, died Monday morning, November 5, at Knollwood Manor in Lafayette.

Mrs. Sircy is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where her service will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, November 7, at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Jimmy Gregory and Jerry Mercer officiating. Interment in the Dixon Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Carthage Chapel on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.

The family has requested that memorials be made to the Peyton Creek Baptist Church.

d/o Ransom H. & Mary Sircy. She married Luther Sircy on 12 Jul 1894 in Jackson Co., TN.
Note: the birth year of 1882 as listed on her headstone cannot be accurate. Lassie is listed as age 3 in the 1880 census.

James Franklin 'Frank' Fisher [Male] b. 9 OCT 1926 Smith Co., TN - d. 4 JAN 2014 Trousdale Co., TN

Mr. Frank Fisher of Hartsville, an active farmer, died Saturday morning January 4, 2014 at the Trousdale Medical Center. He was 87.

Wednesday afternoon January 8th funeral services were conducted from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Dixon Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Fisher was one of two sons of the late William and Josie Kate Swaffer Fisher.

His brother William Ray Fisher preceded him in death on April 9, 2000 at the age of 75.

On May 15, 1948 in Scottsville, Kentucky he was united in marriage to Lebanon native the former Gwendolyn Dies. She preceded Mr. Fisher in death on May 2, 2008 at the age of 78.

Mr. Fisher was a member and former Deacon at the Knob Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Hiwassie for over fifty seven years.

After moving to Puryears Bend he transferred his membership by letter to the Zion Missionary Baptist Church which was about a quarter mile from his home.

Mr. Fisher retired in 1981 from the Rock Tenn Box Co. where he was a dedicated employee for over twenty three years.

Surviving are his four children, Barbara Jo Belcher, Betty Jo Scott, James Lynn Fisher and wife Anita Perrigo Fisher all of Hartsville, Phillip Fisher of Lebanon; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Murdered, allegedly by her mother, who was committed to an asylum with a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia. However, there has been significant family dispute about the perpetrator of the crime, and Kaye's father was suspected by many family members. Eventually, Mr. Scruggs went insane himself, many years after marrying another mentally ill woman.

Anna Fay Reid, age 87, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2007 at Knollwood Manor.

Anna Fay Reid was born on, July 1, 1920, to the late Sam Alexander and Geneva (Holland) Cothron, Jr. On May 9, 1942 she was married to Will Carr Reid who preceded her in death on March 20, 2003. Besides her husband and parents, one sister, Jane Witcher preceded her in death. She was a school teacher for the Macon County School System for 24 years before retiring. She was a member of the Lafayette Garden Club and Macon County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Lafayette United Methodist Church.

She is survived by, son, Samuel Reid of Cookeville, TN, daughter, Billie (Ron) Dooley of Franklin, TN; two sisters, Nan Hix of Florence, AL, and Sammie Gay Price of Lafayette, TN; grandchildren, Meredith Dooley of Nashville, TN, Jamie (Micah) Allison of Cookeville, TN, and Erin (Wes) Myers of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Bennett Myers.

James and Gay Chamberlain, Homer and Philena Blankenship, Melvin and Marion Casady, Louie and Ida Tucker, and Ruby Flowers served as honorary pallbearers. George, Jerry, and Duane Reid, Danny Price, Lanny Newberry, and John Mark Witcher served as active pallbearers.

Interment was in the Anderson and Son Memorial Park.

SAMMIE GAY "Dinky" PRICE, better known as Dinky, age 88 of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away peacefully, May 29, 2010 at Alive Hospice of St. Thomas Hospital. Funeral services for Sammie Gay "Dinky" Price were conducted Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 1 p.m. from the Lafayette First Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Nelson officiating. The Deacons of Lafayette First Baptist Church served as Honorary Pallbearers. Ryan Boggess, Jacob Boggess, Ron Dooley, Lanny Newberry, Craig Linhoss, and Sam Reid served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Anderson's & Son Memorial Park.

She was born in Macon County, Tennessee on April 7, 1922 to the late Sam Alexander Cothron, Jr. and Geneva Holland Cothron.

She was married to Allison B. Price on October 25, 1945, sharing almost sixty-one wonderful years together and raising three children; Allison preceded her in death in October of 2006. Besides her husband and parents; three sisters, Jane Witcher, Anna Faye Reid, and Nanella Ferne Hix, also preceded her in death.

Dinky served the public as a teller for Citizen's Bank for over twenty-five years. She enjoyed taking care of her home, collecting antiques, and working in her flower gardens. Dinky was a loving and caring mother and grandmother; being around her family brought her great joy.

She was a charter member of the Lafayette First Baptist Church. Dinky will be greatly missed by her loving family and all who knew her.

She is survived by; daughters, Shanna Ledbetter of Jeffersonville, IN, and Allison Gay Lendermon and Husband Benny of Memphis, TN, son, Danny Price and Wife Deanie of Murfreesboro, TN, grandchildren, Carla Price Simpson and Husband Steve of Nashville, TN, Beth Lendermon of Baltimore, Katie Lendermon of Nashville, TN, and

Judy Lane Hauskins Spears, age 66, of Lafayette, TN passed away on November 1, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services for Judy Lane Hauskins Spears were conducted Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder W.T. Spears officiating. Johnnie Halliburton, Patricia McDuffee, and Tony Gregory served as Honorary Pallbearers. Tommy Farley, David Cowan, Dwight Crowder, Terry Templeton, Anthony Gregory, and Greg Templeton served as active pallbearers. Interment followed in the Drury Cemetery.

She was born on July 4, 1943 in Macon County, TN, to her parents; the late Tommie Archie and Mary Francis Hughes Hauskins. Besides her parents; special friend, Bill Clark; also preceded her in death.

In her earlier life, Judy was married to Bobby Reed Claywell and shared two children. Judy work for Lambsteel for a few years, then became a Nursing Tech, working for Hartsville Hospital and Nursing Home until she became disabled in the mid 90's. She enjoyed traveling and saw almost every state in the United States. Judy liked listening to music and being around her friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who cherished and dedicated her life to her family. Judy will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by; Son, Bobby Claywell, Jr. of Hendersonville, TN,
