She was the widow of Billie Green Doss who died ten years ago. She leaves one son, George Meador, Lafayette merchant; three daughters, Mrs. Whittemore; Mrs. Samantha Law of Underwood; and Mrs. Haywood Meador of Shiloh.
She was a Miss Bandy prior to her first marriage many years ago, being the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Fishburn Bandy.
Burial was made Monday afternoon in the family graveyard, with funeral services conducted by the Rev. Ed Morris. The deceased was almost 90 years of age, and a member of Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church.

Dorothy Gammons Driver was born on August 17, 1920 in Macon County, to the late Lela Simpson and Ethel Draper Gammons. She was married to R. H. Driver, who preceded her in death on December 21, 1992. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by granddaughter, Kay Driver Gentry, on April 7, 2002, brother, Willard Gammons, and sister, Myrtle Christianson. She had retired from Carter Automotive after 15 years of employment and was a member of the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church.

Ms. Hessie was born on July 9, 1920 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late John Allen Sewell and Cerena Jenna Likens Sewell. She was one of eleven siblings born to this union.
She was married to Willard Mitchell Gammons, sharing more than thirty years together and raising eight children. Willard preceded Hessie in death on October 26, 1966. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by; two daughters, Barbara Roark, and Vivian Davis, one son, Phillip Gammons, and a grandson, Barry Neal Satterfield.
Hessie worked as a seamstress for Trousdale Manufacturing for over twenty years, before retiring. She enjoyed making quilts and giving the most of them away. Being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother made her life complete. She loved preparing big meals for her family and friends. In her home everyone was always welcome. Hessie liked to talk and socialize. She had a great personality, very self-sufficient, strong willed and full of fun.
She was a member of the Lafayette Church of Christ.
Hessie will be missed by family and friends, but leaves many memories behind that are everlasting.
She is survived by; Sons, Donnie (Judy) Gammons, Billy Gammons all of
Lafayette, TN, Daughters, Margaret (Hilton) Farley of Lafayette, TN, Charlotte (Denny) Reagan of Sevierville, TN, Linda (Steve) Morris of Lafayette, TN, 22 grandchildren, 37 Great-Grandchildren, 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Vivian Davis was born on July 29, 1939, in Macon County, Tennessee, the daughter of Willard Gammons, who preceded her in death and Hessie Mae Sewell Gammons, who survives. She was married to Raymond R. Davis on June 29, 1984, who survives. In addition to her father, son, Barry Neal Satter-field, sister, Barbara Roark, and brother, Phillip Ray Gammons, preceded her in death. She worked 13 year at Stitches in Red Boiling Springs and attended the Lafayette Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, of 22 year, she is survived by, sons, Gary Lee Satterfield, Larry Wayne Satterfield, and Tony Dale (Mary) Satterfield, all of Hartsville, TN, daughter, Pamela Kay (John T.) Burial following the 11:00 a.m. service was in Phillip Anderson & Son Memorial Park in Lafayette. Mrs. Sircy was born Betty Lou Gammons on Aug. 10, 1939 in the Dry Fork Community of Macon County and was the daughter of the late Jesse Franklin and Selma Lethia Claiborne Gammons. She was retired from American Greetings in Lafayette in 1990 with fifteen years of service. She was a member of Meadorville Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by three children, Bobby C. Sircy of Webbtown, Linda Eller and husband David of Hillsdale, Barbara Reid of Lafayette; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Lewis of Florida, Ruby Jo Fatter and San Francisco, CA; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

VERA NELL CHESSOR DEERING, age 82, of the Hartsville Convalescent Center in Hartsville, and formerly of Lafayette, TN passed away Friday, November 13. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, November 15th, at 1 p.m., from chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Ricky Wilson officiating. Great-grandchildren; Anna Robertson, Gabriel Jones, Leslie Thuesen, Hanna Anderson, Ethan Anderson, Kristen Oldham, and Adrianna Woodard served as Honorary Pallbearers. Chris Jones, Brad Anderson, Scott day, K.C. Henry, John Jones, and Danny Robertson served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Drury Cemetery.
She was born on December 29, 1926 in Hickman County, TN, to her parents; the late Paul and Bertha Campbell Chessor. Ms. Vera was married on August 27, 1950 to Helma C. Deering, sharing thirteen years together and four children, Helma preceded her in death on May 3, 1963. Later, she was married to her second husband, Henry Gammons, who also preceded her in death. Besides her husbands and parents; son, Phillip Steven Deering, daughter, Beverly Deering Ketchel, and son-in-law, Elmo Armstrong, also preceded her in death. Ms. Vera worked for Formfit-Rogers in Lafayette as a seamstress for thirteen years. She was a homemaker who took great pride in decorating her home; she liked being outside working in her flowers and garden, also. Ms. Vera was a very caring wife and mother; that cherished her family. She had the kind of personality that if you ever meet her, you grew to love her. On the second Sunday in September of 1963, Ms. Vera was at New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, where she got saved, joined the church, and was baptized the same day; she remained a member there.
Ms. Vera will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services for Barbara Reid were held at the Anderson & Son Funeral Memorial Park in Lafayette, TN on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Barbara had previous worked at Flex and Tennplasco, however, she most recently was a homemaker. She was of the Missionary Baptist belief. In addition to her father, she is survived by: Son, Brian Parker, Daughters and son-in-law, Pamela and Michael Connell and Melissa Reid, a Brother, Bobby Sircy, all of Lafayette, and a Sister and brother-in-law, Linda and David Eller of the Hillsdale Community.

Ovie Gregory Wilburn, age 95 of Lafayette, TN passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at Sumner Regional Medical center. A native of Macon County she was born August 3, 1918, the daughter of the late Bodie and Minnie Gregory. She was a member of Old Beech Bottom Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted housewife and mother. On January 18, 1936 she was united in marriage to Jesse D. Wilburn who preceded her in death on September 21, 2005. Funeral services for Ovie Gregory Wilburn were conducted Thursday August 22, 2013 from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home. The service was officiated by Elder Terry Austin. Interment followed in the Anderson Memorial Park. Active pallbearers were Joey Wilburn, Jeff Morgan, Ricky Law, Jason Law, Brian Law, Jimmy Gregory, Teddy Gregory, and Kevin Gregory. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jackie Gregory, Robbie Gregory and Wayne Kemp.
She is survived by: Daughter and Son-in-law, Ruth (Junior) Polston; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Everette (Pat) Wilburn and Dean (Carolyn) Wilburn all of Lafayette; Granddaughters and their husbands, Frankie (Ricky) Law of Cottontown, Evette (Jeff) Morgan of Lafayette; Grandson and his wife, Joey Alan (Tracie) Wilburn of Murfreesboro; Great-Grandchildren, Brian (Laura) Law, Jason (Jennifer) Law, Allye and Collin Morgan and Lily Kate Wilburn; Great-great-grandchild, Parker Jo Law. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by brothers, W.P. Gregory, Audie Gregory, and J.D. Gregory; sister, Lorene Kemp; daughter-in-law Martha Wilburn; son-in-law Frank Stafford; and grandson Roger Stafford.
