Son of Thomas Jefferson Gregory and Margaret Louise Catherine Sullivan Gregory (both buried here also). He married Mattie Ligon Satterfield (buried next to him) and they had at least 10 children. The saddest part is that they both died within months of each other so the children were divided up between relatives (as told to me by Mollie Gregory Gragg, their daughter).

Momma Ola was one of the best cooks in the territory. She made one of thebest pecan pies I ha ve ever had the pleasure to eat. I remember as achild, we visited one to two times a year. Ev ery time we visited, shealways had me one of her famous pecan pies cooling on the stove. Itdi dn't matter what time we arrived, she always cut me a piece right then. She had a pull out cut ting board built into h er cabinets. She would pullit out and I would set on the stool/chai r at that cutting board and eatmy pie. I, not being a nut eater, would always pick all the nu ts off (shealways used whole nuts bec ause of this), lick the "good stuff" off thebottoms an d lay them aside. For years I gave my nuts to my father to eat.On one of my latter trips to s ee him before he passed away, my stepmother Pat ha d bought me a pecan pie; it is common know ledge in ourfamily how I love them. After dinner, daddy and I had us a piece. Well,as usual , I picked & licked my nuts and laid them aside. After my daddy was done with his pie I aske d him why he hadn't eaten the nuts I had laidaside for him. He replied, "I don't wantem afte r you licked all overthem". I found this quite comical and responded, "Why, you 've ate themt hat way for years!" - Sheila
