Word, Edmond (b. OCT 1801, d. ?)

Note: Edmond was mentioned in his father's John's will:

"It is my will that if I die before I can purchase a negro suitable is for the executors of this my last will and testament do buy a negro about the age of five or six for my son Edmond."

"It is also my desire that my above named sons John and Edmond Word to have of my estate each a good cow and calf and furniture as the rest of my above named children had a bed and furniture and a cow and calf when they left me."

Wife, if any, unknown at this writing, however, the records of Halifax Co., VA indicate a Edmond Word married Aseneth Smith Feb 3, 1826.

Word, Nancy (b. ABT. 1806, d. ?)

Note: Nancy is mentioned in John's, her father's will:

"I also give unto my daughter Nancy Word one negro girl named Lucy, a good horse bridle and saddle, a bed necessary furniture then also a good cow and calf."

Nancy was apparently no married at this time because all of her sisters are mentioned in John's will by the married names. This would make her unmarried in 1821.
