Note: The family of Mr. Pitts and Nancy Pitts was provided by Jerry L. Sanner <jlsanner@@snow-bird.com> who is a descendant of John Hudson & Nancy Pitts. Nancy (Pitts) Hudson is his ggg grandmother. According to early history of Sangamon Co., Illinois, Nancy is said to have had seven children. In this history only Nancy and Blaney are named. Matthew is assumed as he is found in Rutherford Co., TN and was born in NC according to the 1850 census on page 334.

Brandon, James Adams (b. 1806, d. 1894)

Note: James A. Brandon's apparent middle name is Adams. Some sources have reported it to be Alexander. James is reported to have served during the Indian Wars and when he applied for a pension the papers indicated that Allen, apparently after Mary Tennison Brandon's mother's maiden name. James left Tennessee in the 1830's to Lawrence Co., AR; then in 1855 moved his family to Erath and Tarrant Co., TX. He moved to Nolan Co., TX with his son's family and died there in 1894.
