Saunders, Amanda M. (b. ABT. 1831, d. ?)
Note: Not sure if Amanda is the wife and mother of children. According to the 1850 census William was 40 and Amanda was 19. Nancy Pitts doesn't therefore belong because she is listed as 23 F Tenn. William Pitts married to Amanda M. Sanders Jan 15, 1848 in Rutherford Co.

Pitts, William (b. ABT. 1810, d. ?)
Note: This information is a combination of information provided by Debbra Szymanski and from Dorthy Pitts, wife of Lyle Pitts of Murfreesboro. Dorthy provides the Pitts family from William to essentially the present on her husband's line compiled in 1997. Debbra provided the information concerning the Saunders.

Dorthy mentions that William lived in the Valley District of Rutherford Co., TN and was a farmer. He was abt. 40 at the time of the 1850 Census while Amanda was 19. Nancy may have been a child from an earlier marriage? because she was 23, i.e. older than Amanda.

Martial E. Pitts is not mentioned in the census but Aunt Eila Pitts Coleman said that William Pitts was her grandfather and Amanda was her grandmother.

The connection of William to the Matthew Sr. has not been established as yet, however, it appears as if their should be brothers, i.e. William's birth being abt. 1810 between Nancy 1805 and Blaney in 1812. As far as that goes there should be other children as well but now this is a unknown.
