Note: During the earlier days Tom and one of his brothers traveled about the country on horseback as peddlers. This was before the motels and such so they had to stay at what we would call bed & breakfasts. On one occasion, they stopped at this place way out from no where to spend the night. While they were being fed supper and even afterward they noticed that the people were acting a little strange compared to what they had been accustomed. So eventually they went to their quarters to get ready for bed. There they thought they hear someone breathing in a box or chest that was in the room. They got scared about that so decided they had better not cause any trouble since they were out numbered in the house. So they decided that one of them stayed awake all night with a pistol in his hand and the other one act like he was sick and growned and moaned all night so the person in the box would know they were not sleeping. They got up the next morning and made haste out of there. While on the road a good piece from the place they ran into a local and ask him about the place they spent the night. He told them that lots of strange things had happened in that place but no one knew for sure what went on there. A lot of travellers had spent the night there never to be seen again.
Thomas "Tom" Jefferson Andrews and Curtis Andrews married sisters: Victoria and Susie Cothron. Susan is believed to have been previously married to a Linville. Maybe children? Drury Jr. and Andrew married sisters Jane and Ann Cartwrigh. Victoria [Tori] Andrews was reported born July 24, 1866. She is reported to have married her uncle, maybe half Uncle Curt. The first three names of the children do not seem to fit. Perhaps children by one or the wives by another? The family was raised on Payton Creek in Macon Co., Tennessee. Thomas Jefferson Andrews Family births are recorded in the Eclectrics Series School Geography No. 3 book. It states:
