Note: "Drewry/Drury Andrews" was an apparent common name during this period, therefore it is impossible to assured of family connections based just on the name. Even now we are not sure how his name was spelled. Just like the name Andrews, often many pronounce the name Anders, and and a hundred more variations. Family traditions as told by my great Aunt Elizabeth indicates that our family came from Halifax Co., Virginia to the Kentucky-Tennessee area. The family as we know it settled around Macon Co., Tennessee and from there moved into other parts of southern Kentucky and middle Tennessee. The information of how long the family lived in VA and where has long been removed by time.

The following information is from Marie Taylor, (40 Timberhill Drive, Jackson, TN 38301). She reports that her grandfather, Patrick Henry Andrews (1838-1913) had a brother, William Drury Andrews, who was captured by the Federal Troops during the Civil War and died in prison camp in Alton, Ill. Parents were Isaac H. Andrews and Martha Amanda Cooper. They had 10 children several of them born in Virginia. In 1842 they travel by covered wagon from Sussex Co. Virginia to Brentwood settlement in Tennessee. Later settling in Fayette Co., TN. Issaac H. parents were Isaac Andrews and Patsy Loftin who married in Apr 30, 1807 in Sussex Co. Henry Andrews, his father, list in his will probated in Sussex Co., in 1801 the following: wife Lucy; children: George, Isaac, Ambrose, Abby, Henry, Elizabeth, Amy, Lucy and Sallie. Info dated May 17, 1977 by Marie Taylor in letter to Robert "Bob" Andrews.

No connection found between families and this Drury Andrews as yet but this and the above information may be helpful by someone in the future to make the connection or even create a connection in their Andrews line.
Death: 3 DEC 1845
