But Posted by Carolynn A. Eilts was the following which is contrary to the above statement:

However, Samuel Andrews married Ola Bost, John D. Andrews, as stated in the Advocate 1901 died at a young age. John Andrews was father of Samuel Andrews, Sr. and Grandfather of Samuel Andrews, Jr. whom was Mayor of Greenville and owner of the National Glove Factory and several businesses in Greenville. I have heard that John had brothers that settled in Fayette County. Do you think we can get our heads together and figure this out with your info and mine? Please email me: geofinder@@aol.com

Word, Thomas (b. , d. ?)
Note: Possibly information concerning this Thomas Word but uncertain:

Thomas Word

Thomas Word, allegedly a son of John and Elizabeth Word III, was born circa 1740 in New Kent County, Virginia, and died in Buckingham County in 1816, as proven by tax records. Thomas Word appeared in the Cumberland County records on March 23, 1761, when he received a license to keep an ordinary at Maurice Langhorne’s house. About 1763, Thomas Word married Lockey Harrison (ca. 1746-1835), daughter of Benjamin and Priscilla (Cary) Harrison of Cumberland County, Virginia. It is believed that Thomas met his wife-to-be through his association with the Langhorne family. Priscilla was probably a daughter of Henry Cary. Thomas and Lockey raised a large family and the names of eight children are known. Thomas settled briefly along Buffalo Creek, but moved his family to Hatcher’s Creek area of Buckingham County, just 2-3 miles southwest of the courthouse. Descendants still live in the same community.

It is believed that Thomas Word built "Mohawk" as early as 1770. Benjamin Eldridge, clerk of the court, owned this house from 1850-1885. Its present owners are Mr. and Mrs. Harold F. Swartz. The names Cary, Benjamin, Lockey and Harrison were passed along as Christian names in the Word family.

Children of Thomas and Lockey (Harrison) Word were:

1. Sallie Word was born on June 2, 1764, and died circa 1785, possibly of childbirth. She married Noah Flood, Oct. 30, 1784. Noah was born on Nov. 2, 1763, and died in Buckingham County, on Oct. 2, 1818. According to real estate tax records, they had at least one child, “John Flood of Noah.”

2. Mary Harrison Word was born on May 30, 1768 and died after 1850, presumably in Buckingham County. She married Francis McGraw Jr., son of Francis and Mary (Woodson) McCraw Sr., Feb. 7, 1795. Francis was born May 9, 1760 in Powhatan County, Virginia and died Sept. 28, 1834, in Buckingham County. Francis was sent to England to study for the Anglican priesthood, but he returned to Buckingham County and became a lawyer instead. He enlisted in the Revolutionary War from Powhatan County, and applied for a pension on June 8, 1833 in Buckingham County. His widow Mary applied for a widow’s pension on Nov. 21, 1848, when she was living in Prince Edward County. McCraw was an early and influential name in Cumberland County.

3. Judith Word was born July 22, 1770 in Buckingham County, and died on Jan. 10, 1844, in Hopkins County, Kentucky. She married Joseph Fuqua Jr. son of Joseph and Judith (Daniel) Fuqua. He was born Aug. 18, 1766 in Cumberland County, and died May 8, 1829 in Hopkins County. They had seven children.

4. Thomas Harrison Word, probable but not a proven son, born circa 1774, married Judith Richardson, daughter of Martin and Judith Richardson, in 1803. They lived in Cumberland County, VA until 1817, when they moved to Williamson County, Tennessee. They raised a large family, but in 1827 their four youngest children were orphaned to James Swanson, because Thomas H. Word had a drinking problem and lost all of his possessions. In 1836, Judith divorced him, and stated that she heard that he was living in Mississippi. (I have more info. on some of their children)

5. Benjamin Harrison Word was born circa 1778, and died circa 1816 in Buckingham County. He married Sally Jones, daughter of Robert Jones of Buckingham County on March 14, 1803, in Buckingham County. Sally Jones was born in 1779 and died in December 1853, near Maysville, Buckingham County.

6. John F. Word was born circa 1781. He was living in Cumberland County, Virginia in 1815, as proven by the land tax records. It is believed that he married Elizabeth ___, who became a widow and died in Buckingham County about 1871.

7. Lockey Ann Word was born circa 1783, in Buckingham County, and died in Hopkins County, Kentucky. She married William Noel. William and Lockey Noel moved to Kentucky with the Joseph Fuqua Jr. family, about 1807 and settled in Madisonville. William was a shoemaker, but he also ran a tavern and held the office of Jailor. Children of William and Lockey (Word) Noel were: (a) Dr. George Washington Noel was born on June 25, 1810 in Madisonville, Kentucky. He married
Emma M. Summers of Christian County. George was a physician, who also served a term as sheriff. (b) Thomas Jefferson Noel, (c) William Cary Noel, (d) Benjamin Noel, (e) Virginia Noel, (f) Marcissa Allen Noel, and (g) Lockey Harrison Woodefolk Noel.

8. George Washington Word, son of Thomas and Lockey (Harrison) Word, was born on Feb. 22, 1785, in Buckingham County, and died in 1853 in Buckingham County. George W. married Frances “Fannie” Gregory, daughter of Thomas and Mary (Sample) Gregory, May 6, 1813, in Buckingham County. George W. served in the War of 1812, with Holcomb’s 1st Regiment (Cavalry), Virginia Militia. His military rifle went to Alabama with descendants, and has recently been returned to a new home in the Buckingham County Museum, courtesy of Mrs. Pauline P. Word.
