James H Kelton youngest son of Robert and Rachel Jetton Kelton was born
October 21 1818. He married Martha Jane Yardley, who was born June
15 1824, daughter of Captain Thomas Yardley, who was in Jackson's Army
at the Battle of New Orleans. James H Kelton was in the army that took
the Indians from Tennessee to the Indian Territory. He and his wife had
seven children, namely:
John Thomas, Sarah Elizabeth, Alice Jane, Mary Louise, William James,
Margaret Tennessee, Mattie J.

Jesse CLIFTON b abt 1747 Southampton Co VA was named as son of Benjamin CLIFTON in Benjamin's will of 8 Oct 1772 in Southampton Co VA. Jesse d 1790 Montgomery Co NC his widow Priscilla HARRIS CLIFTON m/2 George TUCKER IN 1796. They moved to Chester Co SC and then were in Wilson Co TN in the early 1800s where Priscilla CLIFTON TUCKER died in 1833 in Wilson Co TN. Elizabeth "Betsy" CLIFTON dau/o Jesse and Priscilla CLIFTON m abt 1795 in Montgomery Co NC Hiram WILLIAMS. They bought land in Chester Co SC in 1798 and sold it to move to Wilson Co TN in 1806. Several children of Jesse & Priscilla CLIFTON settled in Wilson Co TN including son Benjamin and wife, Cynthia. - Ruth Coward Cunningham

Some records indicate a daughter named "Jane". Unknown if this is a middle name.

Andrews, Thomas A. (b. 7 SEP 1829, d. ?)
Note: Thomas A. Andrews, Justice of the Peace, Mason was born in
Macon, Tenn September 7, 1829. He was married April 3, 1851, to
Miss Arena Jackson, daughter of Irwin Jackson, of Marion County,
IL.Our subject located in Effingham County, IL and followed the
avocation of farming, at which he met with good success.
Purchased and paid for 120 acres of land in Mason Township. In
1857, he purchased a store in Brownsburg, of this county, and
embarked in merchandising. This proved rather disastrous, he
continued the business little over one year, sold out on credit, and never
received the promised stipulation. He then returned to farming with good
success, paid the debts contracted in the store business, and gained
considerable property. In 1877 he removed to Mason, and worked for some
time in a Stave factory. Politcally, Mr. Andrews is a stanch Democrat. He
has repeatedly held the office of Justice of the Peace, a postion he at
present fills. Has a family of seven children living. John W., born in
1856, Sarah E., born in 1858; Mary T., wife of Harvey Leatherman, was born
in 1860. Thomas born in 1862; Charles F. born in 1871; Jessie A, born in
1869; and two dead. Miss Emma Andrews was born in 1864 and died in 1881;
William F., was born in 1856, and died in 1858. The subjects father,
Drewry Andrews was born in Chatham County, NC Feb 14, 1783, and resided
there till 1805 when he went with his parents to Smith County, Tenn. Soon
after he was there he was married to Rebecca Parker, and settled in that
county. In 1811, his wife died, mother of three children, who survived
her; John, born in 1806 is a resident of Macon County, Tenn; Cal W., born
in 1808; Mrs. Martha Young, was removed to Macon Township. After the death
of his wife, went into the Indian war that was raging at that time and
served.

The Hopewell Adams who died in 1799 in Edgecombe Co.,NC through his son Hopewell who moved to Washington Co., Ga. and his son who was my great grand father.

Thomas and Elizabeth Yardley are buried in Shiloh Cemetary in Robertson Co
Texas. Mary Yardley married Julius C Parker (my gr grandfather) in 1872.
