Winkler, Herbert Ernest (b. 15 JUL 1889, d. 6 JUL 1983)
Note: Herbert Winkler was a very talented man. He served as a general contractor and constructed many building, church buildings, fine stables, houses in Nashville and surrounding area such as Dickson and even in Decatur, GA. He was a noted preacher of the Church of Christ, elder of the Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ from 1921 until November 2, 1958, author of several books including The Elder. He was married three times. He out lived them all.
In 1921 when he had just finished construction on the Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ building his house on Idaho in Nashville burned. Most all of the family pictures were destroyed. At this time they kept a cow and chickens in the back yard. He just took the building crew over to the old house and removed all of the good material, stored it in the barn out back and used the material to build a house on Nevada which remains there today where one of his daughter still lives (2003).
In 1936 he built a brick home. During the depression, he moved his family out of town to more economical housing and rented the house on Nevada out.

The information on Franklin is very confusing. This information may be mixed up due being taken from hand written notes from Donna Dennis. Following is the text of the letter written in Aug. 11, 1986:
"... (6) Franklin Pierce b. 23 Oct. 1852 d. 3 April 1918 md. 8-13-1880 S. F. Kinnard m. 4-4-1895 Margaret Elizabeth (Lowe) Kinnard md. Fannie Maxwell."
Not clear if Margaret & Fannie are wives or whatever.
