He wrote:
The father of Inman Davis was a Peyton H. Davis who married Caroline Bailey on August 11, 1851 in Fauquier County, Virginia. The Peyton name is seen in both the Davis and Winkler families and makes me wonder if their might be a connection I'm not aware of. Peyton Davis left Virginia and is in Hawkins County, Tennessee when the 1850 census was taken. He moved from Hawkins County to Williamson County and stayed there for about 10 years before finally settling in Humphreys County, Tennesss. Inman Davis was born in Fauquier County, Virginia. He married Louisa Peeler in 1879 in Humphreys County, Tennessee. Sometime after the 1900 census, Inman moved his family to Nashville and his wife Louisa died there in 1910. There is one daughter that I haven't found after the 1910 census, I assume she married, but don't have any information to support that. Ida and Catherine's older brother is in jail in Nashville in the 1910 census, I don't know what he did. Family tradition says he was later killed in an accident, working for the railroad. The only other brother is Ezra Patin Davis left Nashville after 1910 and settled in Dallas, Texs. He met a Flora Reichert whose family had immigrated Texas from Russia. They had two sons, Joseph and John Davis. Both were Optometrist and had very successful practices. My ex-wife is the daughter of Dr. Joseph Davis.
Note: Known to have worked for Opry Land Productions in Nashville, TN.
