The following is provided by Thelma Delores Compton Smith:

Susan's parents married Oct. 12, 1842 when her mother was 13 years oldand her father was 21 . Her parents were Mathew and Martha DaughteryPitts. Mathew acquired a large amount of lan d when they move d toTennessee from North Carolina. Susan was given around 200 acres of land and her father, Mathew built her a two story colonial home, a barn, chicken house, a outsid e privy and hog houses. He ga ve her some of thefarm animals. Mathew was a very prosperou s farmer and did this for eachof his children when they married.

Since Susan's mother was Martha Nolen, it is assumed that Martha's mothercould have been Mart ha Daughtery Pitts. however, has never been proven??

JAMISON CEMETERY
Located in Danbury Twp., Ottawa Co., Ohio
North side of Township Road 222 on Kalb farm.

75 yrs. 9 mos. 4 ds

The George Jamison family had a rough life. The children recorded here that past away in their youth is a testimony to the hardship of this era. If any survived, it is unknown to this au thor who is continuing hissearch for answers.

Th Sackett Cemetery in Danbury, OH may hold some of the answers no found in this family plot. There is a small cemetery in Marblehead, Ohio that contains the graves of seven Jamison's. It is featured in the local newspaper today, as someone is trying to get the township to take care of the graves. I thought If I could find people related, you might want to get involved. The names mentioned were George & Fannie Jamison, pioneer settlers of Marblehead (b 1812, d 1888 & b 1816 d 1882). Daughters Annis and Alice are buried there along with a daughter in law and I think a son, who's name was not mentioned. If you are related, and want more information, contact me.

Today in our local newspaper they have featured a small cemetery filled with seven people, who are Jamison's or related to Jamisons, which has been neglected for probably 50 to 100 years. Someone unrelated, is trying to get the township to take care of the cemetery. I thought if I put this message on the board, there might be people out there that want the genealogical information from the article, and who might want to join in the campaign to save the cemetery. They are considered a pioneer family in this area. Names listed are Father and Mother George and Fannie, daughter Annis, and Alice. A brother is also buried there, but no name is given, and the wife of another brother no names given. I just want to help someone elses genealogical search. I would like to find the family that belongs to this small cemetery. George was born in 1812 and died in 1888, Fannie was born in 1816, and died in 1882. I can give you local names and phone numbers if you need help.
