St.Benet's church is located at Paul's Wharf on Upper Thames Street onthe site of an earlie r 12th century church which was destroyed during theGreat Fire of London. The later church, b uilt by Wren, was opened in1683. In 1879 the parish was united with that of St.Nicholas,Col e Abbeyand St.Benet's because the church was due to be demolished. However, itbecame the Lond on Church of the Welsh Ep iscopalians and now goes underthe grand title of the Welsh Churc h within the Church of England, LondonDiocese. The church has survived but the services ar e now held entirelyin Welsh.
Elizabeth's brother Reginald was a merchant in London in his early20's. This is pure conje cture, but investigate the his home, she mether future husband William Faulkner, ("citizen a nd draper (merchant) ofLondon" - quote from her father's will). Is it possible that Reginald introduced Elizabeth to William?
