The father of Inman Davis was a Peyton H. Davis who married CarolineBailey on August 11, 185 1 in Fauquier County, Virginia. The Peyton nameis seen in both the Davis and Winkler familie s and makes me wonder iftheir might be a connection I'm not aware of. Peyton Davis leftVirg inia and is in Hawkins County, Tennessee when the 1850 census wastaken. He moved from Hawkin s County to Williamson County and stayedthere for about 10 years before finally settling in H umphreys County,Tennesss. Inman Davis was born in Fauquier County, Virginia. He marriedLoui sa Peeler in 1879 in Humphreys Cou nty, Tennessee. Sometime afterthe 1900 census, Inman move d his family to Nashville and his wife Louisadied there in 1910. There is one daughter tha t I haven't found afterthe 1910 census, I assum e she married, but don't have any informatio n tosupport that. Ida and Catherine's older brother is in jail in Nashvillein the 1910 censu s, I don't know what he did. Family tradition says hewas la ter killed in an accident, worki ng for the railroad. The onlyother brother is Ezra Patin Davis left Nashville after 1910 an d settledin Dallas, Texs. He met a Flora Reichert whose family had immig ratedTexas from Rus sia. They had two sons, Joseph and John Davis. Both wereOptometrist and had very successfu l practices. My ex-wife is thedaughter of Dr. Joseph Davis.
