For conflicting information as to whom is father of TJB, seeCHARLES BALLEW IV, an un connected record in this data program.
According to a Marie Ballew note, apparently a handcopytranscript from a Columbia M O newspaper dated 1880: The article confirmsbirth and death dates. States he died of cancer o f the face. M oved toBoone County MO (Columbia) in 1836. Article confirms marriage to MaryJan e Gillaspie and specifies they had nine children. From the list aboveJohn,
Catherine and David are not named, therefore the previousinformation is questionabl e in details. Article refers to ThomasJefferson as the "Honorable Thomas Jefferson Ballew o f Carroll Count y,last year (1879) Greenback (a political party) member of the legislaturefro m Carroll."
It also show Durritt as living in Montgomery, Miss.---we mayhave a carpetbagger ther e but more likely a soldier who served there(CSA?/Federal?), liked it and stayed or returned

Since receiving the above info on TJB of Carroll Co., I havedefinite info that he i s not "my" TJB, but that does not eliminate him asthe son of William b. 1805.
