Fact: We know that Henry Vodin named his daughter, Anne Andrews. So, shehad to have been marr ied to an Andrews.

Fact: We know that Benjamin Andrews's wife was an Anne.

Fact: When Henry died, he left an orphan, Lodowick. Lodowick choseBenjamin Andrews as his Gua rdian.

There were only so many Andrews men who were married about this time.Thomas was married to Ja ne. Richard was married to Mary. William wasmarried to Avis. John married Elizabeth.

Perhaps there were others, but the evidence found in the court recordscertainly seem to indic ate that Benjamin was married to Anne Vodin.

Thi s is probably the son ofThomas Andrews, Sr., the immigrant Silvester Andrews is probably th e sonof Benjanin Andrews.

Hello all, Benjamin Andrews was the son of Thomas Andrews, who died inHenrico County, VA 1731 :

Benjamin left no will. His Inventory was reported February 1773, so heprobably died in 1772 . Sylvester Andrews qualified as the executor ofBenjamin's estate as his widow , Ann (Vaden ) Andrews refused to qualify.In January 1780 , Sylvester sold to Bullard Andrews, 100 acres o f land(Chesterfield County, VA, Deeds, Book 9, Page 275) that was "t he Landthat Benjamin And rews, Deceast had of Marke Moore Deceased" (HenricoCounty, VA, Wills & Deeds, 1744-1748 , pag e 67) . I take this to meanthat Sylvester was the oldest son and in the absence of a will an d underthe law o f primogeniture at the time, he was entitled to the estate ,except that whic h was given by the court to Ann (Vaden ) Andrews aftershe refused to qualify as executrix o f Benjamin's estate. Ann suedSylvester to obtain her portion o f Benjamin's estate, her inten t to dothis is likely why she refused to qualify as executrix of Benjamin'sestate. I believ e that Bullard was also a son to Benjamin Andrew s, hewas buying some of his father's land an d living next to his brother,Sylvester who also owned 100 acres.

Benjamin is also thought to have had at least one other son , Benjamin(Jr.). Benjamin Jr., ab out 1804 (Land Tax Lists) . Benjamin Jr. did notbecome a land owner until 1802 (Land Tax list s). Sylvester died 1832 inChesterfield County, VA (Will Book 12, page 255). Bullard died 182 8 alsoin Chesterfield County, VA (Chesterfield County, VA,Will Book 11, page343). If Benjami n Andrews and Ann Vaden had any daughters, they are notknown to me so far (they likely d id).

I am descended from Bullard's son Erasmus Granger Andrews . I am sorrythat I don't have mor e complete information a t this time, I have not yethad time to study and assimilate the info rmation I found in Richmond thismonth and last month. I do have the children of Sylvester, Bu llard andBenjamin; I hope that a few more trips to the Library of VA will help meflesh out m y line better.
