Thomas Hamilton Jameson, eldest child of Edmund Jameson and his second wife, Nancy Wyatt (Scott) Jameson, was born in Charlotte County, Virginia, November 16, 1807 and died in Rutherford County, Tennessee (near Millersburg), August 21, 1863. After the death of his father he assisted his mother in caring for the family. While visiting his sister, Mrs. Gibson, in Tennessee, he met and Catherine Donnelly and later married her there; they were married September 11, 1845. Catherine Donnelly Jameson was the daughter of Peter Donnelly and his wife, Eliza (Dwyer) Donnelly. They had eight children and moved in 1846 to Rutherford County, Tennessee, near Millersburg.

Thomas H. Jameson was born in Virginia and migrated with his parents to Madison and later Lawrence counties, AL in 1812. When Thomas' father died, his mother moved to Rutherford county taking her daughter, Sarah Gibson, and her son, Thomas Jameson, with her. This occurred sometime between 1840 to 1850.

The Jameson family was recorded as Thomas Jemison in some census records.
