George Adams and the Jamison boys grew up together around the Knob. Thereis a tale that Georg e hide down by the grave yard when Vervie was wasgoing home and wanted to scare him. Vervi e saw him and decided to runover him and apparently blooded his face good in the event. It i sbelieved that they were distant cousins.

George Abel Gregory was born to Abel J. and Sarah M. "Sallie" Owen on 6January 1866 in Maco n County, Tennessee. He first married Martha D."Mattie" Owen Abt. 1887. When she died, he mar ried second Ca mila Susan"Cammie" Kirby Abt. August 1900. Cammie was the housekeeper for Geor geand Mattie and cared for their children which she raised as her own afterMattie's death. Br other G.A. Gregory joined the Days Cross RoadsMissionary Baptist Church in Macon County, TN i n 1890 and became a Deaconin 1897. George Gregory was a merchant and peddler and owned and op eratedthe old Pumpkintown Grocery Sto re in Pumpkintown, Macon County, TN untilhe became il l and his son, Robert Gregory, ran the store which was soldin August 1936. George Gregory die d 5 January 1940 in Macon County and isburied in th e Enon Cemetery next to Cammie.
