Services for Jennings Bryan Powell, 89, of McKinney, who died Saturday atNorth Texas Medica l Center, will be at 2 P.M., Tuesday at Frist UnitedMethodist Church of McKinney. The Revs. M ike Haynes and Leighton Beardenwill officiate at the services. Powell was born Dec.31, 1897 i n Oklahoma,to John Whitten Powell and Ida Worley Powell. He was a retired carsalesman and ha d worked with Ford Industr ies for 53 years, and was amember of the Masonic Lodge. He was als o a member of First UnitedMethodist Church in McKinney. He married Ethel Christie, May 6, 192 0 inAllen.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel Christie Powell, of McKinney; fourbrothers, Julius Powell, of W infield, Kan., Oscar Powell, of Gainesville.J.W. Powell, of McGregor, and C. John Powell, o f Norman, Okla ., twosons, John W. Powell, of McKinney, and J. Bryan Powell,of La Costa,Calif ., six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Christie, Bill Christie Jr., John Powell,Steve Ryner, Gary Powell ,Steven Powell, Brent Powell and Vic Penton.
Visitation will be 7 to 8 P.M. today at Horn-Harris-Crouch Funeral Home.Burial will be at Row lett Cemetery. Horn-Harris-Crouch Funeral Homehandled the arrangements.
Memorial may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
