Visa "Vi" Gray, 97, of Enterprise died Dec. 19 at a La Grande carecenter. A memorial celebrat ing Mrs. Gray's life will be scheduled in thespring of 2006. No other services are planned.
Lee Bollman of Enterprise and Mel Byers of Wallowa are handlingarrangements.
Mrs. Gray was born Feb. 14, 1908 to Steve and Barbara Hammack Hodge inEnterprise. She was rai sed on the Alder Slope. She also lived in Joseph,Upper Prairie Creek and on the homeplace , a farm near Lo stine. DuringWorld War II, she lived in Bend.
On Dec. 4, 1926, she married Thorvel "Mike" Gray in La Grande.
Mrs. Gray enjoyed quilting, picking huckleberries and growing a hugegarden. She was a membe r of the Wallowa County Cowbelles.
She was a member of the Wallowa Christian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Oma Gray Miller of Island City ; agranddaughter; and severa l nieces and nephews, including Bob Dressler andAleta Neal.

Oscar Hammack one of Wallowa county's successful farmers, who with hiswife retired from thei r Alder Slope farm and moved to Enterprise a fewmonths ago, passed away Tuesday evening, Augu st 29, 1967, at WallowaMemorial hospital where he had been a patient for ten days.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow (Friday) at 2 p.m. by theBollman Funeral Home a t the Enterprise Community Church. Rev. James E.Jonees will officiate and Rachel Ann Sutphin , sololist, wil l sing. Mrs.Gail Swart will be organist. Internment will be in the Enterprise cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Ed Quin, Harold Wade, Victor Searles,Robert Zollman, Dee Walker , Marion Jordan, Corda Locke, and Burl Kooch,and casket bearers will be Herman and Walter Ste in, Kermit W ilson,Mervin Zollman, Jim Stubblefield, and Wayne Locke.
Oscar was the son of W.J. and Mary Hammack and was born July 18, 1895 inLondon, Kentucky, com ing with his family to Wallowa county in 1903.
On March 19, 1921 he was married at Enterprise to Carrie E. Ward whosurvives him.
Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Gifford (Vernice) Botts ofEnterprise; two sons, Ve rnon of Enterprise, and Harold of Toppenish,Wash; one brother, Walter of seattle; five grandc hildren and onegreat-grandchild.
