When we were small, he would say: "you know what?" We'd say "What?", he'dsay "Chickens Squat"
He would tell the tell of keeping his hat, the kind Jungle Jim would wearon the back porch o n a shelf.
As he would walk out the door, he would grab his hat and put it on.
On time he did so and a snake was in it. From then on the would check.
He would chew tobacco the old fashion way. He would keep a tobacco twistand when
he had the urge he would take out his pocket knife and cut off a chunk.
He carried around a dollar bill that was half eaten by grasshoppers thathe found
along side the road while mowing.
