According to Anne Cathey Smith, William is found in Montgomery Co., andHumphreys Co., TN in 1 820 & 1830. At that time Humphreys Co., wasactually Montgomery Co., TN

It is believed by some that William is actually William Downs, however,there is no proof at t his point.
