WINKLER, MR. FORSTER - age 71, of Poplar Ave., Murfreesboro, died Friday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Winkler was a native of Hancock County, Tenn., and the son of the late Vester and Della Seal Winkler. He was a member of the Baptist Church, a veteran of WWII and a retired barber. Survivors: daughter, of Murfreesboro; sister, of Knoxville; two brothers, of Morristown, of Florida; two grandchildren,, both of Murfreesboro. Graveside services 2 p.m. E.S.T. Monday at the Winkler-Barnard Cemetery in Hancock County, Tenn. Rev. Henry Wallen will officiate. Visitation with the family will follow at the cemetery. Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.

HUTCHINSON — Virginia Lee Jones, 82, died Friday (Nov. 30, 2007) at Wesley Towers in Hutchinson.
She had been a resident of Hutchinson since 1971 and was a homemaker and antique dealer.
She was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Hutchinson to Charles Keith and Gladys Gay (Hilleary) Copenhaver. Her step-father was Galen Bousser. All are deceased.
On Feb. 9, 1947, she married John Jefferson in Wichita. He died on June 2, 1968. She married Eugene Jones on March 23, 1973, in Hutchinson. He survives of Hutchinson.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Newton.
Other survivors include: sons, Stephen and Kathleen Jefferson, and Daniel and Faye Jefferson, all of Hutchinson; daughters, Christy and Doug Hafenstine, and Cindy Barnes, all of Hutchinson; step-sons, Charles and Lisa Jones of Phoenix, Ariz., Robert and Vickie Jones of Hutchinson; step-daughter, Brenda and Dean Link of Apache Junction, Colo.; brother, Monte Copenhaver of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam Louise Hall.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead with visitation with family from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Halstead Cemetery in Halstead. Officiating will be Chaplain Art Maddock.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Halstead Historical Society or American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Daniel Corrie Jefferson, 57, died Friday, August 24 2012, in South Hutchinson, KS. He had been a longtime resident of the Hutchinson area. He was a retired printer, having worked in various businesses. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed computers and was a Denver Broncos fan.
He was born January 2, 1955, in Wichita, Ks, to John W. and Virginia Lee (Copenhaver) Jefferson. Survivors include: daughters, Michelle and (Rick) Wray of Hutchinson, KS, and Jennifer and (Steve) Boren of Memphis, Tennessee; son, Jeremiah Bass, of Ottawa, Ks; grandchildren, Logan Cain, Jacob Wray, and Clarke Boren; brother, Stephen and (Kathleen) Jefferson, of Hutchinson; sisters, Christy and (Doug) Hafenstine, of Sterling, KS, and Cindy Jefferson, of South Hutchinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead Ks, with Chaplain Art Maddock presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2012, with family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Halstead Cemetery following the service.

Eugene Raymond "Gene" Jones, 86, died Dec. 15, 2009, at Hester Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson. He was born July 19, 1923, in Hutchinson, to Charles Raymond "Charley" and Frances Grace Emery Jones. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 2001. A resident of Hutchinson, he was a retired mechanic for the City of Hutchinson and worked for 27 years as a welder, mechanic and tube winder at Carey Salt Company. He belonged to Berean Baptist Church, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post No. 1361, Loyal Order of the Moose No. 982, United Mine Workers District No. 50, and was a volunteer Reserve Sheriff Officer. He was a retired U.S. Navy SeaBee. He had been married to Dorothy Louise Salmon. She died in July 1996. On March 23, 1973, he married Virginia Lee Reed in Hutchinson. She died Nov. 30, 2007. Survivors include: children, Brenda Link and husband Dean, Apache Junction, Ariz., Charles and wife Lisa, Phoenix, and Robert and wife Victoria, Hutchinson; stepchildren, Stephen Jefferson, Daniel Jefferson, Christy Hafenstine and Cindy Jefferson, all of Hutchinson; brothers, Donald, Olympia, Was., Vernon, Whittier, Calif., and Richard, Wichita; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Simon and Marie Ann Dark. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday Dec. 18, 2009, in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Art Maddock presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Served in the U.A. Army and served through the Mexican War,then served in the Civil War and reenlisted in 1860.Moved from Tennessee to Kansas in 1866 and remained there until his death.His son Franklin remained in TN. and is buried at Clinch River Cemetery in Anderson County.Franklin's son Lee moved to Kansas with his grandfather Thomas when he was a young boy and is buried at the same cemetery as Thomas.
