Judge Geo W. Noland, b. in Madison Co., Ky., Dec. 5, 1830, son of Maj. Joshua Noland and Sallie McKinney. Geo. W. came with his parents in 1831 to Lafayette Co., Mo., and in 1837 to Platte. Judge Geo. W. Noland married Feb. 12, 1858 Sidney R. Reynolds, daughter of Thomas C. Reynolds. In 1862 Geo. W. aided in raising a company for the 39th Missouri Militia, subsequently the 82nd, and was chosen second lieutenant. He rose to first lieutenant, and served until 1864. In 1873 he was elected county judge, but the drawing for terms gave him only one year. He is a patriarch among his people, who respect him and fully trust his integrity.
He links back to the Noland immigrant, Pierce Noland.
